Brothers Bar & Grill is a popular destination for IU Bloomington students seeking a late-night meal. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old Midwestern corner tavern, and has been serving up delicious late night selections to students since 1990. It's a great place to relax and socialize, with plenty of drinks and food to choose from. The food is basic comfort bar food at its finest. You can't leave without trying their 100 percent Wisconsin beer battered cheese curds, or one of their domestic beer pitchers.
A mix of Greek and hometown American is what you get when you visit the Trojan Horse for a late-night meal. Serving up the classics since 1978, the Trojan Horse is a staple for IU Bloomington students. Delicious aromas greet you when you walk in the door, and the atmosphere has that friendly, neighborhood vibe and a sense of community. The Trojan Horse is best known for their French fries, which are hand cut daily and fresh. If you are someone who loves French fries as a late-night snack, this is the place to be! Not sure what to order? Try one of their Combination Plates instead, which has three-five unique Greek offerings guaranteed to make you say “Mmm!”
Nick’s English Hut first opened in 1927. Since then, it’s been a popular destination for IUB students, faculty, staff and visitors for a great meal, great atmosphere, and amazing customer service. It’s also one of the best places in Bloomington watch the IU games. The most recommended item on the menu are Nick’s Seasoned Fries with Nick’s burger, made from natural black angus beef and weighs in at one third of a pound. Another must have when you come to Nick’s? The breaded pork tenderloin or Fisher Farms grilled tenderloin with one of Nick’s famous homemade sauces!
Finished a gig in Bloomington, Indiana, and received a text from @thatguygibby1 asking me what I was doing tomorrow because he was in Bloomington. So we decided to head to Nick's to get a burger. It was after midnight, but this burger was amazing. Anytime there is a 1/3 pound patty, I'm obligated to ask for two. Seriously, it doesn't get much better than this.
The Tap is one of the best places in Bloomington for a late-night meal or drink. It’s pub food at its finest, and very affordable for the college student trying to stay on a budget! Beer is what they do best here at the Tap, but it’s the food and ambiance that keep students coming back. They also feature live entertainment throughout the week. Try the infamous Tap Fries which come with not one but four house dipping sauces.
7. BuffaLouie’s at the Gables, Bloomington, IN
BuffaLouie’s has been an IU tradition since it first opened in 1987, serving up fresh, made to order and delicious food, complete with a smile! BuffaLouie’s is so great that it made the top list of best wings in the country in USA Today. While they primarily serve the best wings in Indiana, they also have other selections as well. Their curly fries and curly cheese fries are scrumptious, as it the Louie burger. Be sure to try an Indiana classic sub sandwich as well!
The only way to make it through those late nights is with a warm, freshly baked, ooey-gooey cookie. And luckily, if you don’t feel like going out, Baked! delivers. All the cookies and treats are made in house and include only the finest of ingredients. No artificial flavors or dyes here! When you go into the store, you can have as many cookies as you would like and there are a variety to choose from. Choose from one of seven different dough flavors, followed by your choice of 22 toppings. You can also choose the after bakes, which are the leftovers but are still oh so yummy.
Come to Big Woods and get your quaff on, which means to drink heartily and with gusto! Big Woods came about in early 2009, and has been going strong ever since. With its incredible food, warm and friendly atmosphere, and some of the best beer in Bloomington, Big Woods is a staple for IU students. Be sure to try one of their original Big Mouth burgers, or the Hoosier tenderloin. The soft pretzel sticks and beer cheese come highly recommended, as does the Strawberry Blonde Ale and the Hoosier Red on tap!
