Edinburgh - Blue's Canoe Livery

Blue's Canoe Livery is an outdoor recreation center that provides canoe, kayak and raft trips on the beautiful Driftwood River flowing through central southern Indiana. While paddlesports are the "main event," we also offer camping.

Our most popular river trips flow through a secluded state wildlife preserve and a part of Camp Atterbury wilderness area. This section of river is alive with deer, beaver, great blue heron, osprey, wild turkey and excellent smallmouth bass fishing. There are occasional mild rapids for added excitement.

We have more than enough canoes and kayaks to oufit several large groups. Overnight camping is available and many of our guests take advantage of our shelter house for picnics.

Wonderful place to go when you want to go for a church outing or for the family or a date. There are plenty of sand bars to pull off on that you can eat a packed lunch and take a little swim or wade in the water. Kids love it. The staff is very nice and family friendly. They have water and drinks available as well as water shoes, bug spray, and water proof boxes for purchase. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I do believe it is very over priced compared to other places I have canoed.

Local family owned business with weekend tent camping locations and canoe/kayak rentals. Check their facebook for updates or call during canoe/kayak season before your visit. Make reservations for large groups. When everyone in your group arrives fill out your forms or download online to bring with you before enjoying your trip down the Sugar Creek and Driftwood River.

So much debris in the water. So many obstacles. Still a fun day on the water. Bus driver almost rear ended the bus in front of us because he kept staring at us in the mirror. Kinda creepy, but overall a good time. We did the 9 mile. Have done it several times. First time the bus driver was rude. Different guy. Only have to deal with them for 15 minutes total so worth it for a day trip.

Nice river run, good equipment. We went during a weekday, when the river was almost empty. We heard it's quite busy on weekends, however.
