The Gibson County Fair is a big part of Gibson County. Agriculture has also been a big part. This is what spawned the idea of having a county fair. The movement began in the 1840's but, did not reach a definite result until 1851 thanks to a man named, Dr. George B. Graff. Dr. Graff was at all times interested in the growth and welfare of Gibson County and its people. Dr. Graff and fellow colleagues who shared his interest, started the development of what is now the Gibson County Fair. These members included Dr. Wm. W. Blair, Dr. Andrew Lewis, Dr. Joseph Neeley and others whose names were closely linked with the history of the later organized fair association. They developed an Agricultural Society on the 13th day of November in 1851. They met to discuss the bringing of an annual fair. That day was the day the Gibson County Fair was born.

At the Gibson County Fair we still hold true to the values that our founders set forth. We are interested in the people of Gibson County and strive to improve the fair every year. This year we hope that you will come and join us at the best Gibson County Fair ever!
