Created in 1984, the Indy Sports Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports amateur sports and its impact and influence on the common good of central Indiana.
Originally housed and operated from the Indianapolis Athletic Club, the Foundation is a donor-supported charitable entity that has underwritten such worthwhile causes as summer camps for kids with disabilities, Special Olympic Camps and other amateur athletic events like the Indiana High School Girls Volleyball State Finals Banquet. Most recently the Foundation has provided grant assistance to Lead the Challenge Softball, Kids TRI for Kids, Happy Hollow Children's Camp, Inc., Miracle Place, Playball Indiana, Innerlight Ministries, Inc. & Special Olympics Indiana.
The main fundraising events which are hosted and administered by the Indy Sports Foundation are the Annual Shamrock Run & Walk & Annual Indianapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade. The Foundation has hosts a Sports Luncheon Series that features the Annual Old Oaken Bucket Luncheon.
