OUR HISTORY
Superior Haunted Trails was founded in 2018 by Mike Gilbert of Indianapolis. He built the haunt with very limited help and resources. The sources of advertisement at that time were limited as well. However, Camp Superior was born. The reviews from guests were all positive but Mike had bigger plans.
In 2019 his hopes were to make the haunt much larger and more successful. The original plan was to reopen in 2020 but unfortunately those plans were put on hold for the 2020 - 2021 season due to COVID.
This year, in 2022, the grand reopening is planned for September 16th. Mike invited Ian Rozens of Avon Indiana to join him as the haunt coordinator. This team has made amazing improvements and additions to make this one of the most successful haunts in recent times.
Mike and Ian chose to name this relaunch UNHALLOWED DARKNESS. The idea behind the haunt is to tell a story of the more sinister, evil, darker side of the world we live in. The vision is to pull the guests into the haunt to create a more unnerving experience for everyone that lives this experience.
This will not be the last haunt that Superior Haunted Trails creates at their current location. Plans are already in place to add numerous new haunts under the Superior Haunted Trails umbrella. Stay tuned…
