Month of Chocolate Festival

Month of Chocolate History

Bloomington has been celebrating the Month of Chocolate since 1997, each year and each event unique. Local businesses host chocolate themed events that celebrate a love of chocolate that goes back to ancient times! Each year, there are over 10 events with a different themes. Not only does this festival taste amazing, but it also offers an opportunity to raise funds to support various causes in the community. Don’t forget to get your Chocolate Passport stamped at each event you attend! Bloomington Chocolate Company will award you with a FREE box of Truffles if you turn in your stamped passport at their store in the “Olive Leaf” by College Mall.

Formerly known as Week of Chocolate, this festival has changed quite a bit over the years. Starting as a single event in 1997 and eventually growing to a week long series of events in 2008 when other non-profits were invited to join LIFEDesigns and host their own chocolate themed fundraising events, and again expanding to multiple weeks in 2016 when for profit businesses were invited to host events benefiting a nonprofit. In 2018 restaurants started featuring chocolate desserts or cocktails as a stop on the passport. As we look to the future, we expect to see further growth as more excitement builds for this community wide festival!
