Haunted Hills Hospital in Lake Station, Indiana, is the place to be this Halloween. Come and see some of the most psychotic patients deemed too “evil” to stay in a regular mental hospital. Will you make it out alive, or will you become the newest patient? Caution: children under the age of 13 are advised to not participate due to the graphic nature and content of the attraction.

Come to Indianapolis this year and participate in the annual Halloween Bar Crawl! Various bars throughout Indiana will be participating, including Taps and Dolls and Tiki Bob’s on South Meridian. Come dressed in your Halloween best and participate in the costume contest. Check online for more details!
Who knew northern Fort Wayne, Indiana, had such a dark past? Murders, hangings, and feuds! Sponsored by the Architecture and Community Heritage group of Fort Wayne, the tour begins at the Anthony Wayne Ballroom and from there, you will tour some of the most haunted destinations in Fort Wayne and learn about its spooky past! The tour may not be suitable for all ages nor is it for the faint of heart, but it is definitely fun for those who take part! Tours take place every hour on the hour from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. You’ll never look at Fort Wayne the same again after this tour!
Another great place to spend Halloween in Indiana is at the Key Haunted Escape Rooms in Indianapolis. Escape rooms have become quite popular over the last few years, and it is great fun for the whole family. There are seven rooms to choose from, and each is a different theme. Locked in the room of your choice, you have two options: figure out how to escape, or be lost in the room forever!

Something that is true to the Hoosier spirit and held every October throughout Indiana is the annual Oktoberfest, which celebrates German culture. Enjoy unique, unusual and delicious German food, authentic beer, and live music. In some areas there are also pumpkin patches, kid zones, and so much more! Come visit Shireman Homestead this Halloween, and be prepared to be chilled, thrilled, and have some fun! Shireman Homestead is a non-profit organization that provides homes for animals in needs. Take a walk through the haunted woods, and visit the Old West ghost town. Take the old elevator down to the miners’ encampment, and see the upside down barn. You never know who might be lingering in the woods, so hurry as fast as you can but beware! The Headless Horseman may find you before you find him.

For something a bit more kid friendly and not as scary, take the kids to the Fort Wayne Zoo this Halloween for a fun night of tricks n’ treats, a mini maze, and a pumpkin patch. There are tons of kid friendly activities and an opportunity to see a variety of wild animals dressed up in their Halloween finest. Be sure to take a picture with Broomhilda the Witch before leaving! She loves having her picture taken with her little goblins, ghouls, and other Halloween creatures!
